First check: which ITE route is this?
The 2026 JAE route here is 2-year Higher Nitec. MOE specifies at least five O-Level subjects taken over no more than two years, plus the course’s minimum requirements. Do not apply that rule to every ITE programme.
| What the page says | What to verify | Official starting point |
|---|---|---|
| 2-year Higher Nitec under 2026 JAE | Exact course code, aggregate type and subject requirements. | MOE’s ITE JAE course guidance. |
| 3-year or 4-year Higher Nitec / another intake | Which qualification and application exercise apply to this applicant? | MOE distinguishes Joint Intake Exercise routes from the 2-year Higher Nitec JAE appeal route. |
| A future progression route | Which completed qualification, GPA, mapped course and application year are required? | Check the receiving institution’s published progression conditions. Do not treat a possible pathway as an automatic place. |
A possible progression route is not an automatic place
A Higher Nitec course and a later diploma are separate decisions. The relevant questions are which completed qualification the receiving course accepts and which attainment or selection conditions apply for that intake. A course title alone does not establish that connection.
The course list here is not a verified ITE-to-diploma mapping, so it does not reproduce GPA thresholds or promise a progression route. Start with the exact ITE course and the receiving institution’s current admissions information.
