What the published course involves

SP describes foundations in programming, analytics and AI. Its published year-three options include an internship, industry project, university accelerated pathway or entrepreneurship. Check the conditions for each option with SP; these are not guaranteed individual placements.

Published O-Level requirements — verified September 2026

SP lists English Language (first language) at D7 or better, Elementary or Additional Mathematics at C6 or better, and one subject from the second relevant-subject group for ELR2B2-C at C6 or better, over no more than two sittings. It also specifies a net ELR2B2 aggregate of 26 or better.

Who might this suit? — Mentora guidance

Consider this if your child wants to understand how data and code produce an output, and can see themselves patiently testing and correcting a solution. Enjoying chatbots alone is not enough evidence to choose an AI diploma.

Try a small task: make a chart from a public dataset and explain one conclusion and one limitation. Or adapt a short beginner programme and describe what changed. Discuss whether the investigative work was engaging, including the parts that did not work first time.

Questions for SP before shortlisting

Ask how students without prior programming experience are supported and how mathematics appears in the compulsory modules. Ask what assessments students complete individually and how group work is evaluated.

Clarify the selection conditions and availability of later pathways, the required notebook specification and what a typical industry project asks students to deliver. If university study matters, verify the intended degree’s prerequisites directly with that university.

Check the admission year

Admission year is the year of entry, not the year of the examination. These notes were verified on 2026-09-09.
